What is the Himalayan Pink Salt

Himilayan Pink Salt which comes from Himalayan mountains of Pakistan dates back to over 250 million years and has a rich mineral content that includes over 84 minerals and trace elements such as: calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron which cause its unique pink color. During the Jurassic era, salt from the ancient ocean was pushed towards the northerm part of the mountain range into a high plateau and was compacted with magma fluids originating from deep within the Earth. Various mineral filtration enriched this salt over the years to produce what we now call the Himalayan Pink Salt. This salt is raw and pure and is harvested by hand.

According to Minnesota Wellness Publications, a nonprofit health and wellness organization, Himilayan Pink Salt contains “eons of stored sunlight energy,” which, when combined with spring water and consumed, provides the “complex mineral foundation for life and energy, to be maintained and sustained.”


Intake of salt plays an important role in supporting vital biological processes but the high sodium content in table salt poses serious health risks.
